Empowering Muslim Religious and Community Leaders as Gatekeepers and Champions towards addressing Gender-Based Violence

This workshop aims to empower Muslim religious and community leaders as key advocates in addressing gender-based violence (GBV) by equipping them with Islamic principles that uphold human dignity, protection of life and property, and justice. The program highlights the common good principle, the ethics of disagreement, and diversity management, fostering a balanced and inclusive approach to leadership. Over six days of intensive training, participants engage in Islamic jurisprudence, critical thinking, and conflict resolution to develop practical skills for addressing GBV within their communities. The workshop emphasizes the role of leaders as gatekeepers of social justice, encouraging them to become champions of change in promoting safety, fairness, and respect for all.
